Thanks, Debi! I thought it was a fun photo. The haystack makes me think of harvest time and fall.

Sheryl - Thank you for your comment! I've wondered the same thing myself. I've zoomed in on the photo, but I still can't say for certain. I think, but I'm not sure, it might be a yardstick. My grandmother was a seamstress, so it would make sense if she happened to have one on hand.
